Our skilled cave trip guides will lead you into a surreal underground world of magnificent natural formations. High Mountain supplies all the gear you'll need.

Spelunking
Cave trips are fun for both adults and children of all ages. It is amazing when grown men and women start getting muddy, they also start to smile and become kids all over again. In every cave that you will explore, there will be vast chambers and windy crawlways to maneuver thru.

Roberts Cave
Roberts cave is about two hour away from the High Country area; it is a beautiful drive through the mountains to Smyth County. These trips will meet at 10 a.m. in Banner Elk, at Ski Country Sports. You will arrive back in the High Country around 5 p.m.
Three entrances into the cave all access into a passage, 8 to 10 feet high and 10 feet wide, trending east. Roberts contains a series of short drops and climbs and approximately 1,500 feet of passages. Roberts cave ends in a breakdown some 600 feet ESE of the entrances and is in Shady dolomite. After you have explored the cave to your hearts content and come back to the surface, there is a small creek nearby that you can clean off in, before your trip home.

Worley’s Cave
Worley’s cave is a little closer with the drive being only around 45 minutes. This cave trip will meet at 10 a.m. and get back at around 4 p.m. Worley’s cave is formed in limestone. The age of limestone caves in Tennessee is from 250 to 350 million years old. This cave has a few rooms large enough to camp in and a stream that flows thru. The trip in the cave will last from 2 hours to 4 hours. You will see rooms like the Fairies Ballroom, Tombstone, Giants Causeway, Thin Floor Room and much more. There are times you will crawl, climb and must or all get muddy.

Children and adults will thrill in the exploration of vast chambers and crawlways hidden in caves millions of years old. No experience is necessary and with an expert guide you will learn the basic skills needed to travel through the fantasy of underground.
