Watauga River Rafting
(ages 3 and up)
The
Watauga River is about one hour away from Banner
Elk, and it is the ideal trip for families with
small children. The Watauga offers fast moving
water with class 1 to 3 rapids, beautiful scenery and
some wildlife along the way.
Nolichucky Rafting
(ages 9 and up)
The Nolichucky River is about an hour away from
Banner Elk. We start in Poplar and enjoy class 3
and 4
rapids through 11-mile gorge. Lunch and some
time for swimming and surfing make for a great
end to the day. We finish the trip in Erwin,
Tennessee.
Wilson's Creek Rafting
(ages 12 and up)
Wilson Creek is a great whitewater run. The
creek drops 85 feet per mile, with 5 to 10 foot
ledges. Paddling in inflatable funyaks make the
trip a lot of fun.
Caving (all ages)
Cave
trips are fun for adults and children of all
ages. Explore the vast chambers and windy
crawlways in these surreal underground worlds!
Overnight Trips
(ages 9 and up)
Take an adventure of a life time. Camping in the
middle of one of the deepest Mountain gorges
east of the Rockies. This remote gorge has no
roads, houses or other people. Making this trip
not only about the outstanding whitewater
rafting but more about the total experience of
the outdoors you will receive. We will still
travel down the river like the full day trip but
with a few differences.
Hiking and Waterfall Tours
(all ages)
Want someone to show you around the Pisgah
National Forest. Let our
experienced staff take you on a hiking trip. See
spectacular long range views of the Blue Ridge
Mountains along with cascading waterfalls. These
hikes will last from 2-3 hours and everyone can
experience all the beauty this area has to
offer. |
